The Climate and Water Smart Agriculture Centre (CaWSA-C) was set-up in February 2019 as a joint venture of the Nakuru Irrigation Acceleration Platform
and Seed Potato Value Chain (SPVC) Community Action Research Project Plus(CARP+).
It has received financial support from SNV Kenya and RUFORUM MasterCard Foundation; technological support from Sun Culture, ADC-Molo, Frigoken, Stockman Rosen/CIP and collaborative and organizational support from the Nakuru County Government, Equity Foundation, ECLOF and other partners.
The purpose of the CaWSA-Centre is to be a centre of excellence on climate and water smart technologies, innovations and management practices (TIMPS) in the Rift valley basin. The establishment of the Centre in Egerton University was made possible through a competitive seed grant (of 8 months) from SNV Kenya. The CaWSA-C therefore seeks partners in actualizing food and nutrition security for Kenyans beyond 2019.
The CaWSA- Centre showcases various water conservation, storage, abstraction and distribution systems and soil and moisture conservation technologies, innovations and management practices (TIMPS).
